I have over 15 years experience in delivering workshops and have given them for many local authorities, schools, museums and galleries such as The National Museums of Scotland, Glasgow University, Edinburgh School of Art, Glasgow Print Studio, Streetlevel Photoworks, The National Galleries of Scotland and various environmental organisations.
Workshops can be given in Basic Papermaking, Papermaking from Native Plants, Papermaking for Children, Papermaking from Recycled Sources, Papermaking for Printmakers and Photographers, Paper into Books, Pulp Painting, 2D into 3D techniques, Papermaking in an Environmentally Friendly Way.
Courses can be tailored to suit individual needs. I have worked with people from toddlers to centenarians and a range of needs. Courses can be as simple or as sophisticated as required and can be devised to suit various Special Educational Needs.
It is a medium which is very adaptable to special needs e.g. stroke patients. Even with the use of only two fingers, it is possible to make artworks. It is not an intimidating medium and even those who claim to be unable to ‘do’ art can produce good work which they enjoy doing.
‘Workshop in a Car’
I have all the necessary equipment and can travel to where you are to deliver a workshop. If you can organise a group of people from 6 – 12 in number and a place in which to work e.g. a church hall or school classroom then I can come and give you a workshop. Tables and a water supply would also be required.
